If you want effective cybersecurity, you need a policy that embraces voluntary public/private partnerships. That’s the upshot of a white paper from the Internet Security Alliance, which has teamed up with industry and civil liberties groups to create the detailed report. The Business Software Alliance, the Center for Democracy and Technology, the Internet Security Alliance, TechAmerica and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce worked with ISA on the white paper. The report argues that the public/private partnership model needs to be strengthened to create a sustainable system of national cybersecurity, to protect individual rights and the nation’s economy.
