The State Department has lifted its voluntary authorized departure order for U.S. government family members in Japan.
Military families that were evacuated from Japan are cleared to return. Stars & Stripes reports the State Department has lifted its voluntary departure order for U.S. government family members in Japan. Thousands of families left Japan last month after the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis there. Military officials say guidance is being drafted for families in anticipation of the order being lifted, but they won’t release the information until they receive orders from the Pentagon.
