The United States is concerned about recent cyber attacks on defense contractors in Japan, according to Reuters.

Some of the targeted contractors also build U.S.-designed missiles, warships and military aircraft.

Experts believe the attacks might have included the Stuxnet computer virus, which is described as a ‘guided-cyber missile’ targeting industrial control programs.

Experts also contend the attacks on Japan’s top defense contractor, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which builds F-15 fighter jets, Patriot missiles and nuclear reactor parts, may have originated from a nation state.
