Beware: Internet scam artists using DoD seal

Hackers are using official Defense Department seals in an online scam.

In a gutsy move, DoD said, the scam artists are even using those of the Cyber Command and the DoD Cyber Crime Center.

The messages look like official correspondence, but they ask recipients to pay a fine to unlock a personal device.

The Pentagon says: don’t do that.

It is using its Facebook page to spread the word that you should immediately delete a message like that. It said if this happens to you, contact the FBI, whose seals have also been used by hackers to scam Internet victims.
