Mobile malware has hit millions of people in recent months, and the problem is getting worse, one security vendor claims.

Lookout says hackers in Russia and other countries are using premium messaging services to bilk phone users out of their money. Lookout says most of the attacks affect Android phones.

The malware often comes through free, downloaded apps. Ads pushed by free apps are also sources of malware that steals data on a phone. Lookout’s report says mobile hacking has become a profitable business.
