Three-dimensional technologies — chiefly printing and augmented reality — show a lot of promise in bio-science and medicine. But widely-shared 3D models are hard to come by. An online effort at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is working on a solution. Meghan Coakley McCarthy, project lead for the NIH 3D Print Exchange and a finalist for the Women in Tech Leadership awards, joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin to talk more about the project.
