- Guest co-host today (the Beast is out nursing a bum knee) is celebrated chef and restaurateur, Robert Weidmaier (Marcel’s, Brasserie Beck, Brabo, Mussel Bar and Wiedmaier), an RAMW Chef of the Year recipient and a knight of the Brewers’ Mashstaff by an ancient guild in Brussels. Beverage director and sidekick, Ramon Narvaez, is along to serve up tastes of and info about all the liquid refreshment at Brasserie Beck.
- Also in are Mike Curtin, CEO of DC Central Kitchen, and Joan Nathan. Joan is a James Beard award-winning cookbook author, six-time Foodie and the Beast Guest and Co-Founder of Sips & Suppers, benefiting both DC Central kitchen and Martha’s Table, for which Joan serves as a board member. They’re both in to talk about what’s coming up next week at the annual Sips & Sups joint fundraiser for DCCK and Martha’s Table.
- Returning for the umpteenth time are chefs Christophe and Michelle Poteaux, owners of Old Towne’s beloved Bastille and soon to be the proud parents of a new, larger Bastille and a cozy new bistro.
- The Underground Kitchen in Richmond has been called “the most exclusive dining ticket in town.” Now Underground Kitchen’s co-founder Michael Sparks is bringing his pop-up supper club show to DC, and he’s in today to give us the inside scoop on his plans.
