- Sips & Suppers, the annual fundraiser benefiting DC Central Kitchen and Martha’s Table, is this weekend, January 24th and 25th. Two of the notable, executive chefs participating are in town from San Francisco- James Beard Award winner Charles Phan of The Slanted Door and Adam Sobel of Michael Mina’s RN 47- and they’re with us today.
- Osman Yazgan’s Itek Construction Company specials in building out a range of restaurants from fast dining to fine dining. He has lots of tips for restaurateurs who want to get the job done without a lot of expense and red tape.
- Tony Lucca of El Camino in DC’s Bloomingdale district was on the show a few months ago, prior to the restaurant’s debut. Now a mainstay for neighbors who love fine and fun Mexican cuisine, El Camino is opening up to brunching and much more. Tony’s in to tell us all about it.
- Tessemae’s is the top refrigerated salad dressing at Whole Foods and Safeway and will gross some $32 million this year. It all started when founder Greg Vetter took a Tupperware container with his mom’s dressing to a buyer at Whole Foods, and the rest is history. Greg’s in to tell the tale and so is his Corporate Chef, Kristin Dittami.
