Since President Obama’s open government initiative in 2009, more agencies have used online dashboards to help organize and disseminate data.
Some examples:
- Recovery.gov tracks stimulus act spending.
- Performance.gov tracks key performance metrics of agencies.
Sukumar Ganapati, associate professor of public administration at Florida International University, examined some of the best practices of government dashboards in a report published by the IBM Center for the Business of Government. He shared his findings in an interview with In Depth with Francis Rose.
