The White House budget proposal includes a 1.3 percent pay raise for federal employees next year. But that doesn’t stack up too well against the yearly pay increases for the private sector. Jessica Klement is legislative director of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. On In Depth with Francis Rose, she says the request for a pay raise is nice, but it’s probably not enough to retain talented employees at your agency.
