House Republicans will propose new defense and security spending cuts this week.

That word comes from Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa. He didn’t give specifics on how large the cuts will be. But he says they’re necessary to address a ballooning deficit, Reuters reports.

House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers says he wants to cut nearly $58 billion from the federal budget this year.
