This week on “Fed Access”, host Derrick Dortch will speak with Clive Davies, chief of Design for the Environment Branch in the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics at the Environmental Protection Agency.
Davies’ division oversees the EPA’s Safer Choice program, which identifies cleaning products that are safer for people to use and aren’t as harmful to the environment.
The products are used in homes, businesses, and schools, and the EPA reviews their ingredients to see if they meet the agency’s rigorous standards for chemical safety.
So far, more than 2000 products have qualified for the Safer Choice label.
Davis will discuss the mission of the program, the testing process, the benefits of producing a product that meets Safer Choice standards.
He’ll also talk about the 2016 Safer Choice Partner of the Year award winners, who will be recognized in a special ceremony on Monday May 9th.
