This week on BGOV’s Capital Impact show hosted by Allen Scott:

  • The Obama administration’s decision to postpone until 2015 the implementation of the Affordable Care Act’s employer mandate raised hope among the law’s opponents that other provisions in the law may follow suit. Interestingly enough this may bode well for the expansion of Medicaid.
  • Every state will have the option on Jan. 1, 2014, to implement the 2010 health law’s expansion of Medicaid. The states are evenly split; 25 will expand or are leaning toward expanding their Medicaid programs in 2014, and 25 are not expected to expand their programs next year. Director of Health Care Analysis Matt Barry discusses both topics this week on Bloomberg Government’s Capital Impact.
