On this week’s edition of On DoD, we discuss strategic sourcing in the Navy, plus the current state of the financial management workforce in DoD. First, Navy Department officials have just awarded blanket purchase agreements to 17 vendors who will provide conference planning services for the Navy and Marine Corps. We’ll also talk about multiple award contracts for mobile services, and for service contracting with Jamie Halke, the Navy’s strategic sourcing program manager.
Later in the program, we’ll talk to Tracy Greene from Grant Thornton, who along with the American Society of Military Comptrollers have just finished their latest annual survey of the financial management community. The survey has some unhappy findings about the trajectory of morale within that workforce.
