Scientists have known for a long time that time passes faster at higher elevations. But one scientist has figured out a way to measure this theory of relativity on a personal scale. In other words, time passes faster when you’re a foot above ground, than when you’re at ground level! We talked about this with Till Rosenband, a physicist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder, Colorado. He is leader of “The Clock Project,” and explains why this precise measurement is so important.
