Army\'s Space and Missile Defense Command puts big money on the table.
L-3 Communications is competing against SAIC for task orders issued by the Army’s Space and Missile Defense Command.
The contract will provide technology services to support the war fighter. The multiple award would last seven years if all options are exercised. It would be worth $298-million for L-3 and $343-million for SAIC.
Army spokesman John Cummings tells the Washington Business Journal that the different dollar amounts are because of the differences in the two companies’ bid proposals. He also says that the contract had been stalled by a protest that the Government Accountability Office denied in November.
