Officials in the United Kingdom now suggest that a cyberattack from purported White House e-mail accounts actually originated from China.
A cyber attack that used White House e-mail addresses is suspected to have originated in China. The messages were sent to several British offices in December and appeared to be official White House e-mails. They included a link which downloaded viruses onto the user’s computer. Federal Computer Week reports foreign officials did not name the specific country responsible but that sources familiar with the case say evidence points in the direction of China.
