Some part of the Pentagon budget will be through the roof. Literally. Rocket and satellite programs will get big boosts under the president’s 2012 budget proposal. The Wall Street Journal reports, the rise in spending is designed to save money long term. The administration hopes to get volume discounts by ending the practice of buying spacecraft one-at-a-time. Meantime, in 2012, rocket and satellite spending would rise 20 percent over current levels. The administration will unveil its spending blueprint on Monday.
