Veteran’s Affairs is rolling out the first in a series of new services aimed at helping the Caregivers of wounded vets. VA has launched a toll-free National Caregiver Support Line, where people can speak to counsellors, find local support groups and even take advantage a referral service. The line unofficially started Feb. 1, and logged nearly 600 calls in its first week. VA has also launched a website where families can find resources and information: www.caregiver.va.gov. Politico reports members of Congress are not happy with the way the VA has been implementing the Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act. The program was set to begin January 30th.
