Which is safer: Macs or Windows?

There is nothing inherently more secure about Apple, according to one expert.

Lots of people who choose the Apple Mac platform do so because they think the Mac operating system is more secure than Windows. But that might not be the case, according to one researcher. InfoWorld quotes Chris Clymer, a consultant at SecureState. He says it’s true Apple users experience fewer attacks and less malware than Windows users, but that’s because Apple’s smaller market share makes it a less juicy target. The news comes as Apple releases Lion, the latest iteration of its OS-Ten operating system.
