Lockheed Martin has received a $46 million contract for work on the F-35 Joint Strike Force fighter. Lockheed is the F-35 prime contractor. The money increases funding under an existing cost-plus-incentive fee contract.
Lockheed will apply the funds to the conventional take-off version of the military’s newest fighter. Another version of the plane can take off vertically. Most of the work will be done in Fort Worth, Texas; El Segundo, California; and Warton, England.That contract was issued by the Naval Air Systems Command.
