The world's largest oil producer said its network has recovered from a malicious computer virus.

The world’s largest oil producer said its network has recovered from a malicious computer virus.

Saudi Aramco said the 30,000 workstations hit by the attack are now OK. They’ve been cleaned and restored to service. But it’s taken a while.

The attack occurred on Aug. 15.

The company had to isolate its network from the outside world to prevent more damage. Officials said the attack did not harm oil operations. They don’t know who launched the virus. They continue to investigate.
