Here’s one reason why wounded warriors are tougher than baseball players: Colorado’s late-spring snowstorms have canceled some recent Major League Baseball games. But more than 200 wounded service members and veterans are putting on their game faces. They’re headed to Colorado Springs for the 2013 Warrior Games. Robin Lineberger is CEO of Federal Government Services at Deloitte, the sponsor of the games.
Will Reynolds, a senior consultant at Deloitte and an Army veteran, is representing the Army at the Warrior Games in Colorado Springs next month.
“Security through obscurity.” That’s what some open-government advocates are calling a new law that repeals financial-disclosure requirements for 28,000 career federal workers. The STOCK Act would have required those feds to make data on their investments available online. A study commissioned by Congress said that would expose them to identity theft and blackmail. Congress and the White House moved to limit the STOCK Act to just elected officials and political appointees. Sean Moulton, open government policy director at the Center for Effective Government, says the repeal is a blow to transparency.
