“Take a step back and remember it is not about me.” Kathy Kraninger, Republican Clerk of the Senate Appropriations Committee on Homeland Security, told Women of Washington Aileen Black and Gigi Schumm that’s her wisdom on handling high stress situations.
Kathy reminds listeners not to sweat the small stuff. She shares stories of working in Washington, D.C. shortly after 9/11 and being one of the team members that helped lay the foundation for DHS while going to Georgetown Law school at night.
She discusses the need to stretch yourself and take on new tasks to learn and grow. She is optimistic on getting work done in the halls of the Capitol and talks about the passion and commitment of the dedicated people that work there.
She reminds all of us “Don’t sweat the small stuff” and to focus on the goal.
