Like last year, the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Office of the Inspector sits at the top among agency subcomponents, despite dropping 1.2 points from last year’s employee engagement score. But unlike last year, the Office of Personnel Management made data available for fewer small agencies and subcomponents. According to the Partnership for Public Service, OPM limited the data available to organizations with 300 or more respondents instead of 50 respondents. That decision meant OPM didn’t provide data for 21 small agencies and 165 subcomponents that were part of previous iterations of the Best Places to Work.
Yet the day before the rankings release, OPM decided it would release the missing data to the Partnership. The Partnership will update its 2017 rankings in January.
