A British research firm has revealed a series of cybersecurity dangers lurking in commercial cloud computing service providers.

Context Information Security examined clouds operated by several well-known companies. It found unpatched systems, missing anti-virus software, and open virtual back doors. Search Security.com reports Context also found instances of dirty disks.

That’s when remnants of data from an earlier cloud tenant are still visible. The lesson for government agencies and all cloud customers: Take charge of your own cybersecurity, especially in the cloud.
