A shutdown has been averted for now as Congress passed a short-term spending measure Wednesday to keep the government funded through March 18.
But it’s now five months into the current fiscal year, and Congress still has not passed a 2011 budget to fund government through Sept. 30. Instead, Congress has passed a series of stopgap spending bills or continuing resolutions (CRs).
How will Congress fund government for the remaining seven months of the current fiscal year?
