January 21, 2014 — This week on “Federal Tech Talk”, host John Gilroy interviews Dolly Oberoi, the CEO of C2-Technologies.

It is a simulation and training company that handles a wide range of areas for federal and commercial clients.

Everyone reading this sentence knows that the federal government must reduce costs for everything, this includes training.

During the interview, Oberoi discusses the education and training portal for the Affordable Care Act, career pathing tools, and training for unmanned systems.

Training today is moving to the online world.

Many have heard of the Massively Open Online Course (MOOC) movement.

The lessons learned is that you just can’t pop a set of PowerPoint slides on a web site and expect people to learn.

There has been an entire science developed that highlights ways to present material on line for effective knowledge transfer. It is called “instructional design.”

In fact, during the interview Oberoi talks about a free website to give citizens tips on using the Affordable Care Act website.
