FERS Redeposit Renewed

New bill would allow returning feds to reinvest without losing credit.

If a new bill becomes law, some workers who rejoin the federal workforce could get their full retirement annuity.

House lawmakers have introduced a bill that would change the Federal Employees Retirement System, or FERS.

Right now, if you leave government service and then return, you lose your pension credits.

The measure is designed to entice former feds back onto federal payrolls.
