NTSB\'s Robert Benzon says \"I\'m trying to put myself out of business,\" as an accident investigator.
Remember the Miracle on the Hudson? A flock of birds knocked both engines out on an airliner, and the captain was able to glide into the Hudson River. Everyone survived. In the aftermath, the federal government launched a major investigation into the causes and possible ways to prevent the same thing from happening in the future. Our next guest, Robert Benzon, served as Investigator in Charge of that Miracle on the Hudson and other high-profile airplane crash investigations. He’s advanced aviation safety for millions of travelers worldwide. He’s been nominated for a Service to America Medal, and joins us to talk about his work.
