Interoperability and cybersecurity are two of the big issues when it comes to development of the Smart Grid. The National Institute of Standards and Technology has identified five sets of standards that are essential to the grid’s development. George Arnold is the NIST national coordinator for Smart Grid interoperability. He joins us with an explanation of the standards and what comes next in the grid’s development.
