NASA is upgrading the space network it uses to communicate with astronauts and low-Earth orbiting. Earlier this month, NASA added Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS) to its network. TDRS brings in data from more than 40 assets, including the International Space Station. Greg Heckler, Telecommunications Systems Manager at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, spoke with Eric White on Federal Drive with Tom Temin about the new initiative.
