The Office of Management and Budget has laid out a game plan for improving performance at federal agencies. To move forward and make progress, sometimes you’ve got to look back at where you’ve been. The IBM Center for the Business of Government, along with The National Academy of Public Administration, recently co-hosted a forum to look at two decades of a results-oriented federal performance management system. John Kamensky, senior fellow and associate partner at the IBM Center for The Business of Government, talked about it in his latest blog.
Cybersecurity legislation, cloud computing, big data, these are among the top technology issues the federal government will face in 2013. Congress has yet to figure out its own mind when it comes to standards and regulation. Agencies face privacy and security challenges in moving to the cloud and putting big data there.
