The time it takes to hire a new federal employee has dropped significantly in the past year. From roughly 180 days to just over 100.
But that number is still short of the Office of Personnel Managment’s goal of 80 days. Tim McManus is the Vice President for Education and Outreach at the Partnership for Public Service. McManus said it’s important to remember that these numbers are just averages across government.
