This week on “Off the Shelf”,  Bill Woods, director with the Acquisition and Sourcing Management Team, U.S. Government Accountability Office, provides an overview of GAO’s mission, structure and operations.

Woods describes the GAO’s role supporting Congressional oversight and its interactions with agencies and departments across the federal government.

He also walks us through the audit and review process and how GAO interacts with its stakeholders.  and provides his insights regarding recent GAO reports focusing on completion under the Federal Supply Schedule program and DoD’s efforts in price analysis of commercial items.

Finally, Woods gives his thoughts on the current state of procurement and access to the commercial market.
