Syria, congressional agenda, and jobs

On this week's Capital Impact show, Bloomberg Government analysts will discuss the summer's employment numbers, and what Congress will be working on this month....

This week on BGOV’s Capital Impact show hosted by Allen Scott:

  • Bloomberg Government Senior Economic Analyst Dr. Nela Richardson breaks down job growth or lack thereof through the summer months. 169,000 jobs were created in the month of August, but was it enough to improve the unemployment? Were they the right kinds of jobs to truly make an impact? Dr. Richardson also tackles real estate along with the economy as a whole. Will we ever bounce back or are we on this roller coaster for the foreseeable future?
  • The September agenda for Congress is full of items left over from the break including a raising of the debt ceiling, immigration and not to mention the crisis in Syria. Bloomberg Government’s Director of Legislative Analysis Loren Duggan helps us prioritize the congressional calendar on this weeks Capital Impact.
