August 29, 2014 — This week on “Fed Access”, Colleen Kelley, president of the National Treasury Employees Union, joins host Derrick Dortch to talk about a new public relations campaign her organization is launching to educate people about the federal workforce.
NTEU has created a website titled: www.theyworkforus.org, that highlights the positive contributions made by federal employees, and encourages young people to consider a career in government.
Kelley also talks about federal workers morale and how it has been impacted by scandals at the IRS and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
She also discusses how workers are being affected by layoffs, proposed pay cuts, and possible changes in their federal benefits packages.
