  • The 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s most famous endurance race, will be open to hydrogen-powered vehicles starting in 2026. Automobile Club de l’Ouest president Pierre Fillon made the announcement on Saturday. Fillon spoke at Japan’s Fuji Speedway, which is holding a 24-hour race that will include hydrogen power. The Automobile Club de l’Ouest organizes the race in Le Mans. The vehicles for Le Mans will include both fuel cells and hydrogen combustion engines.

  • Haley Lee’s grand slam helped Oklahoma claim a historic win. The Sooners matched the longest win streak ever in Division I softball. Oklahoma claimed its 47th straight victory by defeating Clemson 9-2 in super regional play. The Sooners tied Arizona’s run that started in 1996 and stretched into the 1997 season. Oklahoma needs one more win to have the record to itself and clinch a berth in the Women's College World Series. Oklahoma State and Florida State clinched World Series berths with wins.

  • Craig Kimbrel became the eighth pitcher in major league history to earn 400 saves, Brandon Marsh hit a go-ahead, two-run single in the sixth inning and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Atlanta Braves 6-4. Making his 730th career appearance, the 34-year-old Kimbrel worked a scoreless ninth to get his sixth save in six chances this season. Facing reliever Joe Jiménez with the bases loaded in the sixth, Marsh made it 4-3 with a single that scored Nick Castellanos and J.T. Realmuto. The Phillies scored twice in the seventh off Lucas Luetge on Trea Turner’s RBI double and Bryce Harper’s sacrifice fly.

  • Mitch Haniger homered and drove in four runs to help the San Francisco Giants win 15-1 over the Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee's Willy Adames left after getting hit by a foul ball while in the dugout in the second inning. Adames later left the stadium to receive more tests and evaluation. San Francisco won for the ninth time in 11 games as its record climbed above .500 for the first time this season. The Giants have outscored the Brewers 21-1 in the first two meetings of this four-game series.

  • Brewers shortstop Willy Adames was taken to the hospital after getting hit by a foul ball off the bat of teammate Brian Anderson while in the dugout during Milwaukee’s game against the San Francisco Giants. Anderson was batting in the bottom of the second inning when he hit a line drive that struck Adames. Video appeared to show that Adames was hit in the head or face. Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell said after the Brewers’ 15-1 loss that tests revealed no fractures. Adames was to remain in the hospital overnight and will be heading to the injured list.

  • Lane Thomas opened the game with a home run, Corey Dickerson’s three-run shot highlighted an eight-run sixth inning and Luis Garcia had six hits as the Washington Nationals outslugged the Kansas City Royals 12-10. The eight-run inning was the largest scoring inning in Nationals’ history and came against Kansas City’s Jordan Lyles and Josh Staumont. Garcia and Joey Meneses also drove in runs in the sixth, and teammate Jeimer Candelario added a two-RBI triple in the eighth. Patrick Corbin (4-5) worked 6 1/3 inning, allowing six runs, seven hits, four walks with six strikeouts.

  • Kevin Kiermaier and Bo Bichette homered in a three-run third, Kevin Gausman won for the first time in more than month and the slumping Toronto Blue Jays beat the Minnesota Twins 3-1 on Friday night. Toronto won for the second time in nine games. Gausman (3-3) allowed a run and struck out eight over 5 1/3 innings for his first victory since April 23. Jordan Romano worked the ninth for his 11th save. Kiermaier got the scoring started with his fourth home run of the season, a solo shot to right field with two outs in the third. George Springer followed with his second double of the game and scored on Bichette’s 10th home run, a 424-foot blast to straightaway center.
