Today is veto day for the 2016 National Defense Authorization Act. President Barack Obama vetoes the bill at an event in the Oval Office today. But the acquisition provisions in the bill aren't the reason for the veto, so they'll probably live on in whatever NDAA President Obama signs eventually. Rob Burton is a partner at the law firm Venable and former deputy administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy. He joined Tom Temin on today's Federal Drive to review those provisions.

The awards are co-sponsored by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and the Professional Services Council. The Internal Revenue Service is taking the lead on government and industry information sharing. IRS Commissioner John Koskinen announced a new partnership with 20 tax industry groups and 34 states. They've identified 20 new data components that will help the IRS detect and stop identity and refund fraud this coming tax filing season. Last month, the Government Accountability Office detailed the cybersecurity risks posed by small-business contractors and how they increase the chances for breaches of Defense Department agencies. GAO recommended the department's Office of Small Business Programs provide cybersecurity education to its small-business partners.
