The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the global leader in the fight against blood cancer. We are unstoppable innovators, funding the most promising blood cancer research globally with a commitment to equitable access for all. With a more than 70-year trach record, LLS has supported virtually every advancement in blood cancer treatment.
September marks Blood Cancer Awareness Month, providing an opportunity to remind the public about the urgent need to support research to fight this deadly disease — a disease that is diagnosed every three minutes in the U.S. and has no current means of prevention.
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is also observed during September.
While many children survive leukemia, the most common type of pediatric cancer, the treatments are harsh and outdated.
Through The LLS Children’s Initiative, LLS is taking on children’s cancer from every direction with a bold vision for young patients – to not only survive their cancer but thrive in their lives after treatment.
The LLS Children’s Initiative includes: new research grants to advance novel therapies and the first global precision medicine clinical trial for pediatric acute leukemia; free education and support services for children and their families; and renewed policy and advocacy efforts.
LLS provides free, one-on-one support to help blood cancer patients and families.
LLS Information Specialists are master’s level oncology professionals who provide free, personalized assistance to patients, families and healthcare providers.
LLS Clinical Trial Nurse Navigators are registered nurses with expertise in blood cancers who conduct comprehensive clinical trial searches and personally assist patients, parents and caregivers. And our registered dietitian has expertise in oncology, providing free nutrition consultations.
Contact us for one-on-one support at (800) 955-4572, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET, or by live chat/email on LLS.ORG.
