The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society brought life-saving therapies and hope to more than 27,000 patients and their families facing blood cancer in the D.C. Metro Region. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding research, finding cures and ensuring access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

These are just a few of the amazing advances and breakthroughs supporters of LLS have been a part of making happen:

  • Through its research investment, LLS has played a significant role in helping to advance 6 new approved therapies for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) since April 2017.
  • LLS’s Co-Pay Assistance Program has provided $394 million to date to help patients pay for co-payments and health-insurance premiums.
  • In August 2017, the FDA approved CAR-T Immunotherapy, a treatment for pediatric & adult acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), as well as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. LLS has funded this treatment since the beginning, investing over $40 million.

Did you know LLS’s impact is beyond blood cancer? Breakthroughs in blood cancer research are now saving lives and being tested in clinical trials for other cancers and diseases, such as brain, breast, kidney, liver, and more, as well as arthritis and diabetes. Lifesaving discoveries have emerged from researching blood cells, which are easier to access and study than cancer cells in solid tumors.

Progress is only possible because of you. LLS is the best investment you can make – your support saves lives, enables critical research, and patient programs. Become a part of LLS’s mission to cure blood cancer by participating in one of many local events. Visit: www.lls.org/nca
