DHS CIO talks new customer experience directorate, IT modernization priorities

The Homeland Security Department is hell-bent on customer experience. In fact, it’s establishing a customer experience directorate this month. This comes after the department met a goal to reduce the amount of time the public spends accessing its services by 20 million hours over the past year.

Federal News Network’s Justin Doubleday spoke with DHS Chief Information Officer Eric Hysen about the new directorate and the department’s broader IT modernization objectives.
