Lots of people put a neatly tied ending to their federal careers by retiring on Dec. 31. Next year New Year’s Day is a Monday, so you could wake up and have a mimosa. But in the next 60 days, you’ve got some serious final planning to do. Tom Temin got details from a happy federal retiree, Abe Grungold.

Plus, job satisfaction across the federal government appears headed in the right direction. At least it’s not getting any worse. No huge jumps, but figures the Office of Personnel Management released this week show slight upticks in measures of how employees view their workplaces.
