Department of Commerce Chief Information Officer Steve Cooper joined Federal News Radio Executive Editor Jason Miller Feb. 5 for an online chat to discuss his IT priorities around shared services, IT modernization and mobility.
Cooper became the Commerce CIO in June 2014. In this role, Cooper manages the department’s IT budget, which was set at $1.9 billion in fiscal 2014. This is Cooper’s third tour of duty in government, previously serving as the CIO of the Homeland Security Department and the Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Traffic Organization.
