Obama to name Lerner to Special Counsel
The president announcement his intent to nominate Carolyn Lerner to the Office of Special Counsel.

President Obama announced his intent to nominate Carolyn Lerner to the Office of Special Counsel, according to a statement Wednesday from the White House.
Lerner is a founding partner of Heller, Huron, Chertkof, Lerner, Simon & Salzman, a Washington, D.C. law firm that focuses on civil rights and employment matters.
Before entering private practice, she served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Julian Abele Cook, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Lerner has a law degree from New York University School of Law.
The president also said he intends to appoint Timothy Broas to be a member of the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center of Scholars. Broas is a partner at Winston & Strawn LLP.
