DoD extends contract for Lockheed’s F-22 Raptor

Lockheed Martin has an extension on a contract to maintain the F-22 Raptor, Defense Procurement News report.s

The new ceiling on the deal is $7.4 billion. The planes have never been used in combat and have in fact been grounded several times due to ongoing issues with the Onboard Oxygen Generating System and other malfunctions.

Reuters reports the contract will allow for upgrades and modifications on the existing fleet.
