As if there weren’t enough uncertainty in the Pentagon’s budget future, officials are wrestling with another looming threat: When the war in Afghanistan formally ends, there’s no guarantee DoD will hold onto the overseas contingency account that’s funded that operation since 2001. Federal News Radio’s DoD reporter Jared Serbu reports, military leaders say losing those funds would create a huge problem.
