Former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk has been picked by President-elect Barack Obama to be the next U.S. Trade Representative. Kirk was a proponent of the North American Free Trade Agreement and China’s entry into the World Trade Organization while he was mayor of Dallas. Kirk has also said he will promote trade as a way to create jobs in the US. As with any office, many are wondering what might change when the new Administration takes over.
