Lee Vorthman is the Chief Information Security Officer at NetApp U.S. Public Sector and leads a business unit focused on developing Cyber Security strategy, technical solutions and strategic alliances.

Mr. Vorthman is responsible for developing and supporting Cyber Security initiatives for NetApp’s Public Sector business segment, to include the DoD, Intel, Healthcare, Civilian and SLED markets. He focuses on developing strategic relationships within the industry to develop joint solutions that leverage NetApp’s product portfolio and partner technologies that allow customers to solve key challenges around Cyber Security.

Mr. Vorthman’s industry experience includes leading cyber research and development, coordinating the defense of enterprise networks and conducting offensive cyber operations. Prior to joining NetApp, he served in the U.S. Navy as an Intelligence Analyst during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise.

As a subject matter expert in cyber security Mr. Vorthman routinely speaks at industry events related to cyber security. He is a founding member and serves on the advisory board of both the Washington Cyber Roundtable and Sempre Secure – a Virginia based cyber security leadership initiative. Mr. Vorthman holds a Bachelor’s in Systems Engineering and Master’s in Operations Research from George Mason University.
