Ask the CIO online chat with FCC's David Bray.

David_Bray_finalDavid Bray, the Federal Communications Commission’s CIO, joined Federal News Radio for a free online chat. Bray will discuss his priorities around the IT workforce development, moving to the cloud and mission application modernization.

Bray will take part in the chat after his recent appearance on Ask the CIO.

GUEST BIOGRAPHY: 

David Bray is the FCC chief information officer, a position he’s held since August 2013. Bray joined government in 1993 and before coming to the FCC served as executive director for the bipartisan National Commission for the Review of the Research and Development Programs of the U.S. Intelligence Community. Additionally, he previously volunteered to deploy to Afghanistan as a Special Advisor NATO’s International Security Assistance Force with the task of helping Generals “think differently” on strategic efforts in 2009. He has worked with the  Department of Energy, the National Institutes of Health, and the private sector. He also served as IT Chief for the Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where he led the technology aspects of the bioterrorism program’s response to 9/11, anthrax in 2001, SARS, and other outbreaks and received the CDC Director’s Award for Service in 2004. Dr. Bray holds a PhD in information systems, a MSPH in public health informatics, and a BSCI from Emory University, and completed a visiting associateship with the Oxford Internet Institute and two post-doctoral associateships with MIT and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
