Sixteen vendors are winners in 18F's Agile Blanket Purchase Agreement from the General Services Administration. It requires vendors to submit a working prototype based on a public dataset and then use a git repository to show their work. 18F worked closely with the Federal Acquisition Service to make the awards to large and small businesses. Although many have retired, the later wave of Vietnam veterans are still active in the federal workforce, including John Grant, the Region Eight customer accounts and research director in the Federal Acquisition Service at the General Services Administration. GSA's Federal Acquisition Service plans to overhaul its professional contracts by consolidating several multiple award contracts into one big schedule. The General Services Administration has tapped Lockheed Martin to help update the Federal Acquisition Service's (FAS) business systems. The agency announced Monday it awarded Lockheed the Application Maintenance, Enhancement and Operations (CAMEO) task order, which will "streamline a highly integrated IT portfolio."
